Plants and flowers have become an important part of my work as a designer and artisan. Growing up in one of the world’s biggest cities I became fascinated with the nature that exists both beyond it and inside it, in its cracks and crevices. For this series I hand wheeled and illustrated one hundred plates. The illustrations show plants growing out of other organic elements and organisms, like mushrooms, animals, insects and a human hand. The inspiration comes from city dwelling plants: the ones that defy the urban environment and thrive in the concrete of the streets, the walls and the buildings.
